Sorry I’m late again everyone. We just got back from Florida, and I had plans to actually put out a show while I was down there, but it just didn’t happen. I will say, I think I’ve got some great memories to share with all of you from our 2 days in Walt Disney World last week, but we’ll get to delve into those later. For now, we need to get back to our day in Disney’s Hollywood Studios for our next memory.
So as I said last time, it’s a hot Sunday in June of 2012, you know those kind of days that make you melt the moment you leave the air conditioning. In memory 172, we got to hear about Walt Disney the man at One Man’s Dream, and have now headed back outside of the attraction for our next adventure. From where I’m standing, it’s a little bit of a walk to our next attraction at the end of Sunset Boulevard. So we’ll take off in the direction of the Brown Derby again, wrap around the front, and head down what feels like the most crowded corridor in Disney’s Hollywood Studios towards the very gloomy Hollywood Tower Hotel. Eventually we’ll make the left turn under the suspended limousine and into the queue area. Just as I’m about to enter the queue area, you’ll hear someone offer me their extra Fast Pass ticket (this is back in the day when they were still paper), so I’ll get to bypass most off the 60+ minute wait it would have been. It’ll still take some time, but eventually we’ll make our way into the now much talked about recording session with Aerosmith and then they’ll escort us into the back alley as we await our ride to the concert. Eventually I’m shown to my spot in the roller coaster, and we’re launched off.
This has to be one of my favorite attractions in all of Walt Disney World, and is easily in my top 5 roller coaster rides ever. The launch of the roller coaster is amazing, and the music and it’s synchronization to the ride are second to none. While in Disney this last trip, we got to ride the indoor dark coaster predecessor in Space Mountain with Susie and Mikey for the first time, and it just doesn’t hold a candle to Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. I can’t wait to get them on this ride.
Today’s memory is in binaural once again, so I’d suggest putting those headphones on to fully immerse yourself in the memory.
