Memory 200 – A Parkhopping Day at WDW, Part 10: Parkhopping to Epcot

Take a virtual audio trip in this installment of the WDW-Memories podcast as we ride another Walt Disney World attraction in the Magic Kingdom. In this memory, we will continue a day spent hopping between the Magic Kingdom and Epcot  as we park hop from the Magic Kingdom taking two monorails and begin our evening at Epcot.

Well hello and welcome back to the WDW-Memories Podcast. Have you been following anyone who has been in Walt Disney World currently? I follow many accounts on social media and other Disney Podcasts, and I’m loving the coverage of the parks. I always end up daydreaming of my trips, and that’s why I began this podcast. I love escaping to those memories, and I just knew there were others out there that would too. Even though you’re wearing my ears, these could easily be your experiences too. So let’s go enjoy another memory.

Now, as you’ll remember from last time, it’s a very warm summer day in September 2017. My family and I just finished riding The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, and have agreed to leave the Magic Kingdom and parkhop over to Epcot for the afternoon. We haven’t given up hope of getting to the Animal Kingdom, but that all changes after spending an hour changing parks. We’ll begin this memory as we start the walk from the back of the park in Fantasyland, around Cinderella’s Castle and past the Dream Along with Mickey stage show currently in progress. You’ll hear the songs and characters as we stroll up Main Street. As the music changes back to the regular background music, we’ll pass under the railroad and through the turnstiles, then up the ramp to our right as we catch the Express Monorail currently in the station. As is happening throughout the day, there is talk about the coming Hurricane Irma that is bearing down on South and Central Florida as we are all planning our evacuation of the Orlando area. Once we make it to the TTC, we’ll transfer again to a Monorail to Epcot, and in no time we’ll be at our destination. We’ll stick with the memory a bit longer as we go through security (I get pulled for extra screening, but they don’t make me remove my equipment so you’ll get to hear that), then through the tapstiles, and into Epcot. To close out the memory, we’ll pass under Spaceship Earth and as we enter the Fountain of Nations area, we’ll stumble into the Muppet Mobile Labs as they’re rolling by. I have for years been asked for the background music and audio in the park, and often times just the sounds of strolling through the park, or taking the monorail, can be so relaxing that I appreciate these memories enough to go through all the extra editing to make them happen.
