Well hello and welcome back to the WDW-Memories Podcast where together we relive that Walt Disney World Magic. My name is Lou and I’ll once again be your host on this magical adventure. Today we’re starting a new day in Walt Disney World. It’s another single day in the parks, as my family is again staying in Clearwater for a week and wanted to change things up with a day at Disney. It’s the second day of August, 2018, and a little out of the norm for us to be in Florida in August, but this is just before our Disney Cruise in September 2018, and we couldn’t pass up an opportunity to be here. We’ll be joined on this series by my sister and her two kids, and my dad. You’ll get to hear how we navigate the park with a group of 8, with children from 13 months to 10 years.

So we’ll join the memory as we are arriving to the parking gate early in the morning. There is quite a bit of traffic already as we are pulling up. We’ll pay for our parking, and drive on in. We’ll skip ahead a small bit as we are now waiting for the tram to the TTC. As it arrives, we climb in right behind the engine in the front, so it’s a little hard to hear the spiel the whole way. We’ll pull up to the hero gates and step out into the lines for security, which are now outside the ticketing center. I’ll split from my family, as I get to wait for bag check. The guys that check my bag are engaging and fun, and help to begin my day with a bit of magic. As I get my bag back on, I get selected for a second screening. Thankfully, I don’t have to remove my equipment, and I’m through in no time. Once on the other side we begin the process of picking up tickets for some of our family. We’ll skip a bunch of the problems we encountered, but just a quick public service announcement, keep those confirmation emails handy. They’re the key to finding your tickets at will call. Finally, with tickets in hand, we’ll run to the monorail to Epcot, where we will spend the first half of our day.

As the monorail arrives, we enjoy the air conditioning and try to relax a bit before what will be full day. On our ride over, we have a lovely conversation with a family from the UK, who has been in Disney for a 3 week holiday (that sounds like so much fun). We’ll cut a bunch of the monorail ride out though, because of all the talking and noise in the car, it’s just hard to hear what’s going on, and before you know it, we’re back out in the morning heat and heading down the ramp to Epcot. Unfortunately, the security check we did in MK won’t work for Epcot, so we’ll split the family up as some head inside and my sister and I go through bag check again. This time, my checker is very quiet, just pointing, but that’s fine, because we’ll get to enjoy the lovely background music. Once again, after I put everything back in the bag, I get selected for an additional screening, but again, I don’t have to remove all my equipment, so at least it’s quick. It’ll be nice once the check in Magic Kingdom will cover me in Epcot. Finally, I’m able to enter into Epcot, and rejoin the family, who is not by the fountain that I thought they would be at (instead they’re waiting for me by the Fountain of Nations). So we’ll get to enjoy some more of the sounds of the park as I wait for them before we head off to our first attraction of the day.

I love the sounds of the parks. Even if I’m not riding a ride, I still get a smile on my face listening to the hum of the tram engine, or the gentle rumble of the monorail, or the sounds of the fountains and music as you enter Epcot. These sounds all bring back so many happy memories for me that I can’t help but smile.

Today’s memory is in binaural once again, so I’d suggest putting those headphones on to fully immerse yourself in the memory.

Now enjoy the excitement and anticipation of a new day as we start our day off with some Disney Transportation.
