Take a virtual audio trip in this installment of the WDW-Memories podcast, brought to you in immersive binaural / 3D / spatial sound, experiencing another magical memory from Walt Disney World. In today’s memory, you will be transported to the parks, and be there with us as we learn from the best how to race at high speeds.

So the trees are dropping their leaves here in Kentucky, and you know what I like to listen to while I’m raking leaves? Why memories from the parks of course. And it’s not always my recordings I love, I’ve got others that I’ve been following for years that do in-park recordings as well. You can find my blog post online (here) for a full list of my favorites. Let’s add another memory to that list, shall we?

In today’s memory, it’s an exciting Monday morning in December 2021. The park has been open for an hour now, and we are excited for our day in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

If you remember in Memory 288, we pushed the kids to try something new and do a ride on the Tower of Terror. We exited the tower and ran to Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster to see if it is running yet, but sadly it was still down. So since we’re right here, we decide to go check out the new (to us) Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy. It’s probably going to be a little younger, but it’s indoors, air-conditioned, and we can sit down and calm our nerves for a bit. We’ll get in line on the side of the building and wait to be let in. There’s not a lot to hear here, so we’ll skip ahead as the doors open and we’re let in. The crowd is light, and we are able to get a seat with a great view before the show begins. The show itself is more entertaining than I thought it would be. Mater as always steals the show with his comments and wit, and before you know it we’re exiting back out into the warming day. As we exit though, we can see people lining up for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster now, so it must be open, so we race over to get in line, but that will have to wait for our next memory.

As I said earlier, today’s memory is in binaural once again. So for the best experience, I would recommend putting on your favorite headphones to fully immerse yourself in the memory.

Now that you have your headphones on, join me as we relive the fun little show as we get to observe Lightning McQueen and all his pals during a training workout.
