Come and join us for another installment of the WDW-Memories podcast, where I try to make it possible for you relive your Walt Disney World Memories when you can’t actually be there.

Happy New Year!

I trust everyone had a safe and happy Christmas and new year. It was fun for me. Susie and Mikey are growing up so fast, and watching them soak in all the holiday fun was something I will forever treasure and store away in those special memories.

Speaking of memories, I’m sorry I have been missing this past month. Work reached a boiling point, and projects I was working on for Christmas became highest priority, so that left me with little time to get to my other hobbies. But I haven’t forgotten about the show. But that said, I’ve been thinking long and hard about this, and we’re going to evolve the show a little bit. In the past I sought requests of shows from you, and now that we’ve covered a good majority of what I have or we have done, I think I want to change things up a bit.

So how many of you are familiar with Window to the Magic’s WTTM24? I’m going to do something similar, not 24 hours and not non-stop, but just release my days in the parks in segments. There have been many requests to just listen in as I wander around the parks, so this will allow us to do some of that too. I’ll probably not include sections of the day where we are in the restrooms, dealing with the kids, or maybe even eating, but for the most part you will be able to join us as we spend our day in the parks in roughly 30 minute segments. And if you were to put these shows back-to-back-to-back, you would almost be able to recreate our entire day in Walt Disney World. So let’s get things started shall we.

Today’s memory is the start of a new day. We’re going to take our most recent trip from September 2013. It’s a couple days after Labor Day, and the crowds are minimal. TouringPlans.com has the day rated at like a 3/10, meaning it’s one of the lowest crowds for the Magic Kingdom of the whole year. We’ll join our memory as we approach the Magic Kingdom, find our parking spot, and hop on the tram to the TTC to get tickets. The parking lot is still pretty empty so we get to park right near the front, however there is a long line up for the tram, and folks are pushing their way on to hurry to the park which has just opened its gates. We’ll jocky for a spot, only to have problems getting the stroller in. We’ll have to split up and I’ll end up sitting by myself while Traci and the kids sit on another row because a family decided to sit in the double wide row, making it impossible to get the stroller and my family together. The tram will pull away and drop us at the TTC and we’ll head to update our tickets for the park before trying to get across/around the Seven Seas Lagoon.

Today’s memory is in binaural, so I’d suggest putting those headphones on to fully immerse yourself in the memory.

Now sit back. Relax. Close your eyes. And come with me as we get to our favorite place, the Magic Kingdom.
