Memory 116 – Reliving a day at the Magic Kingdom: Part 8, Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor

** Binaural Audio **
Time: 33:40

Come and join us for another installment of the WDW-Memories podcast, where I try to make it possible for you relive your Walt Disney World Memories when you can’t actually be there. Today we’ll continue our day in Walt Disney World. We’ll pick up as we exit the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover and head over to the Monsters Inc., Laugh Floor as we laugh with some cute and funny monsters.

The weather is turning warm, we’re at the ¼ mark in the baseball season my Orioles are in first in the east, and like everyone else, we’re starting to think about summer vacations. I have to let you know though, it doesn’t sound like we’ll be in Florida this year as per usual. Instead, we’re talking about Southern California, home to Disneyland and Disney California Adventure! Not sure it will happen yet, but we’re looking at it. In the mean time, lets go back Walt Disney World, and continue our day in the Magic Kingdom, and spend some time out of the sun and laughing with some very funny monsters.

Let’s pick back up as we just left the loading area for the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover. It’s a warm afternoon in September, and we’ve been enjoying the very light crowds (a 3/10 on TouringPlans.com). We are looking around trying to figure out what to do next, and what gets us out of the heat for a little while, and what is better than Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor.

We leave our stroller where it’s parked and just walk over to the entrance and are immediately greeted by wonderful air conditioning. The queue is mostly empty, but it’s still a few minutes before we are let into the preshow area. Finally they let us through the gates, and we get to hear an explanation why we are being let into the monster world. Finally the light comes on and we’re let into the laugh floor.

In todays show, you’ll hear the kids and audience laughing many times. It was a good show where everyone who got called on did a great job.

As the show ends, we gather our stuff and return back to the heat of the mid afternoon. This is again where we’ll stop our memory, and pick back up next time.

So when this attraction first opened, I wasn’t so sure. I loved The Timekeeper which used to be housed here, and I wasn’t sure how this would go over. The concept of an interactive show with the Monsters appealed to me, but I should have known Walt Disney World would come through with another great attraction. I love the ambiance of this room, it feels like a little comedy club, but one that even my children can enjoy. And don’t worry, even though these are “monsters”, it’s all about laughs and family, and that makes it great it my book.

So does my day sound similar to one you had? Does it trigger a fond memory of one of your trips? Today’s memory is in binaural, so I’d suggest putting those headphones on to fully immerse yourself in the memory.

Now sit back. Relax. Close your eyes. And come with me as we laugh with some cute and funny monsters.
