Happy Memorial Day everyone. Here in the US, we’re enjoying a 3 day weekend, and things finally warming up. This weekend marks the start of summer vacations with the opening of the pools all across the country. It’s the time when I start dreaming of our upcoming Florida vacation every day. We’re once again beginning the planning of going down to the beach over Labor Day Weekend the first weekend of September. We’re even talking about spending 1 day, maybe 2 in the parks, so let me know if you’re going to be there at that time, and maybe we could meet up. In the meantime, let’s continue our day in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Just like last time, we’re reliving my memories from our most recent trip to Walt Disney World in January of 2015. The beautiful sunny day has given way to a cool evening. Most of the crowds in the park have made their way over to Fantasmic, and those that haven’t headed that way are probably on the top tier attractions in the park, attractions like Toy Story Mania. In memory 165, we left off as the family had just reconnected after splitting up, and were getting ready to decide what to do with our last hour and a half in the park. My sister decided to take her family and our dad to do Muppets, which we got to do earlier, while my brother and I decided we’d take the long wait and just get one ride in on Toy Story Mania (currently an 80 minute wait).

As we get to the attraction, my brother and I load up our pockets with as many snacks as we could grab to help keep the little ones occupied in what we were bracing for a long wait. Fortunately, they hadn’t gotten a more updated time yet, and it ends up taking only 45 minutes. I’ll trim that down for us, though there is some fun audio we could listen to with music, and Mr. Potato Head, but that can get repetitive also. Soon, we’ll be at the front of the line and boarding our vehicle. My brother and I get paired up (always fun for some sibling rivalry) and the kids go with the moms this time, and we’re off.

As we exit the attraction, we try to figure out where my sister and her family are, and try to let the know the wait isn’t nearly that long. As we’re standing there, the posted time drops again to 25 minutes, which just is obvious to us that we should ride again, so we hop back in line for a second ride on Toy Story Mania.

This is a very cool attraction technically. The queue has one of the best themes of any attraction. I’m not actually a huge fan of video game attractions though. Anyways, you’ve heard my rants in previous memories, but feel free to tell me why I’m wrong.

Today’s memory is in binaural once again, so I’d suggest putting those headphones on to fully immerse yourself in the memory.

Now sit back. Relax. Close your eyes. And come with me as we spend a little time playing games with our favorite toys.
