Take a virtual audio trip in this installment of the WDW-Memories podcast as we enjoy more of our magical memories from our first trip aboard the Disney Dream. In this memory, you will let your ears take you aboard this majestic Disney Cruise Line ship as we complete our day at Castaway Cay and have some piratey fun with Mickey and the gang at Mickey’s Pirates in the Caribbean Deck Party.

Well hello and welcome to the WDW-Memories Podcast where together we relive that Walt Disney World Magic. My name is Lou and I’ll once again be your host on this magical adventure.
So how are you holding up? For me, in the middle of the United States, I’m really seeing what the rest of the world has been dealing with for so long. Hopefully, these more frequent memories will help bring a smile to your face wherever you are social-distancing and maybe help you escape to your happy place. I know the number of people that have done Disney Cruises is probably smaller, but they are still very much Disney and a great escape for me from my isolation, and I hope for you too. So let’s escape to another of my Disney Memories together right now.
In our previous memory, we watched one of the magnificent stage shows in the Walt Disney Theater. There were shows every night except the third night because that was Pirate Night aboard the Disney Dream. There was still a show, but it was a non-Disney magician for our trip, and while he was good, it just doesn’t translate to an audio podcast at all so I won’t be sharing that. Instead, I’m going to share some of the other fun to be had on Pirate Night, and we’ll start with the family-friendly Mickey’s “Pirates in the Caribbean” Deck Party. This memory takes place on the top-deck, as Captain Mickey and the Gang are challenged by Captain Hook for control of the ship, and we (Mickey’s new crew) help Mickey keep control of the ship from that Old Codfish. We’ll join the memory first with a special clip of the horn, calling everyone back onboard from Castaway Cay and starting the pirate night fun (you might just recognize the tune). Then we’ll jump ahead a few hours to after our dinner as the family and I head up to Deck 12 and take a seat along the railing to watch the show with a clear view of all the action. As we get to our spot, the two-minute warning is sounded and the fun begins.
As with all Disney family-friendly shows, the story is simple and fun for the kids. The characters are of course the highlight of the show, but you’ll also hear the kids scream and yell their parts as they take on Captain Hook as part of Mickey’s Pirate Crew. If you have little ones, don’t miss this show for sure.
Today’s memory is in binaural once again, so I’d suggest putting those headphones on to fully immerse yourself in the memory.
Now join my family as we complete our day at Castaway Cay and have some piratey fun with Mickey and the gang at Mickey’s Pirates in the Caribbean Deck Party.
