Take a virtual audio trip in this installment of the WDW-Memories podcast, brought to you in immersive binaural sound, as we enjoy another magical memory from Walt Disney World. In today’s memory, you will join my family as we leave Futureworld and head back to World Showcase to catch the amazing Jeweled Dragon Acrobats.
Well hello and welcome to the WDW-Memories Podcast where together we relive that Walt Disney World Magic. My name is Lou and I’ll once again be your host on this magical adventure.
I’ve done it. Our trip in September has been postponed. We will be going at some point, but it just doesn’t seem wise. I do believe Disney is doing an excellent job with sanitization and doing its part to keep guests safe. However because crowds are so low, they just can’t afford to run all the shows and large event things that we love. And because this was going to be our once-in-a-lifetime trip to the parks, it isn’t the way I wanted to do it. But we will go, and it will be sooner than later. For now, though, let’s relive another memory from a simpler time.
In today’s memory, we will continue our day in September 2016. As you’ll remember we began our day in the Magic Kingdom, and have now park hopped over to Epcot. We are joined today by my extended family, and we will be picking up as we have just finished chatting with Crush and are trying to decide where we should get some food. We decide the countries in World Showcase will be fun and provide enough variety for everyone so we head back towards Mexico. We kind of took the longer way (not all the way around World Showcase) but see if you can figure out how we get there as we pass by various attractions. Finally, we’ll arrive at our dining destination tonight, La Cantina de San Angel. We order and grab a seat by the water and enjoy a little break from our day. Once fed and happy again, we pack the kids up and head towards the China Pavilion where the Jeweled Dragon Acrobats are about to perform. The sun has now set, and the wind has picked up making it a lovely evening (for Florida). We find a spot along the front ropes and wait for the group to emerge.
This may not be the best show for an audio podcast, but as you close your eyes, maybe you can see them tossing things into the air, balancing a glass while twisting and turning, or stacking chairs to the sky. You can feel the stress as we watch the guys trying to negotiate the higher winds while balancing. Shows like this are currently suspended, and part of the reason we aren’t going in September. We love watching these artists perform, and while doing rides with no crowds is fun, we love the music and the performance artists that Disney has, and look forward to their returning.
Today’s memory is in binaural once again, so I’d suggest putting those headphones on to fully immerse yourself in the memory.
Now join my family on our 2 day trip to Walt Disney World, brought to you in immersive binaural sound, as we are mesmerized by an acrobatic troupe from China as they perform incredible feats of strength, agility, and balance.
