Memory 258 – Riding Splash Mountain

Take a virtual audio trip in this installment of the WDW-Memories podcast, brought to you in immersive binaural sound, experiencing another magical memory from Walt Disney World. In today’s memory, you will join my family as we cross the park and finally take that promised ride around Chick-A-Pin Hill.

Well hello and welcome to the WDW-Memories Podcast where together we relive that Walt Disney World Magic. My name is Lou and I’ll once again be your host on this magical adventure.

I mentioned it briefly last episode, so yes, we have our trip set to be in Walt Disney World for the first week of September. This is the trip we had planned before COVID hit and changed everything, but now that the parks are open, and we are vaccinated, we can’t wait to head down. It’s less than 120 days at this point, and we are more excited with each announcement of shows and attractions returning to full operation. I’m hopeful we’ll get the full complement of stage shows, plus fireworks by then, and maybe even get a preview of some of the 50th celebration. We’ll talk more about the plans as we get closer, but in the meantime, I am excited about riding Splash Mountain once again.

I was so excited when my kids were ready to begin riding more thrilling rides, and we love Splash Mountain. There is just enough thrill to give you that endorphin rush, such great theming to entertain throughout this longer attraction. Even the queue is fun to spend time looking around in. With the addition of the safety bars over the years, it makes this a great family attraction.

For today’s memory, we are continuing our second day in the parks on our trip in September of 2016. If you remember from Memory 257, we split up and the boys went for a race around Tomorrowland on the Tomorrowland Speedway. Afterward, we met back up outside the Incredibles Super Dance Party, where we’ll hear how Susie’s joke got picked for the Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor. Once we’re caught back up, we decide to hop to the other side of the park and finally catch that ride on Splash Mountain. It’s dark now, and the line isn’t too bad, and in no time we’ll be loading our raft and underway once again.

Today’s memory is in binaural once again, so I’d suggest putting those headphones on to fully immerse yourself in the memory.
