Take a virtual audio trip in this installment of the WDW-Memories podcast, brought to you in immersive binaural / 3D / spatial sound, experiencing another magical memory from Walt Disney World. In today’s memory, you will be transported to the parks through immersive binaural audio, and be there with us as we relive the start of our second day, arriving early at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
I need a vacation. This world is stressing me out, and I need a little simple joy and magic in my life. Oh, what I wouldn’t give to be starting a vacation in Walt Disney World, getting to begin each day with the anticipation of “What will happen?” or “Will we get to ride…?” or “What will the kids think of …?” So let’s hear begin a new day together shall we.
Today, we are starting our second day on our trip to Walt Disney World in December 2021. It’s Monday morning, the sun is low on the horizon, and the air is humid and just a little cool. Today is going to be a beautiful day in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
After completing our day in Epcot on Memory 284, we got to our room at Port Orleans Riverside and crashed hard. We knew this morning would be early, as we had to take advantage of early entry to the Studios to ride the brand-new Rise of the Resistance at rope drop. We had breakfast in the room, except for a banana and coffee to go, and headed to the park about an hour and a half early for rope drop. We’ll join the memory as we’re driving up to the gate, listening to the soundtrack to Harmonious in the car. We’ll arrive at the gate, swipe through with our bands, and soon be parked at the furthest spot of the second row. We’ll grab our stuff, and make a quick walk to the front gate where resort guests are already getting into the park, and the non-resort guests are beginning to queue up. As we approach the security check, I try to pull out what I can to make it through, but I haven’t figured out the trick yet (take everything out, and hold it in front of you, including the camera and phone), so I will, of course, get pulled over to the more thorough bag check. Once we get through, we have little issue with the tapstiles because we are using the bands to get into the park, and then we’re off at a quick pace (no running!) to get to the queue to Rise of the Resistance. But that experience will have to wait for next time.
Today’s memory is in binaural once again. So as I said before, for the best experience, I would suggest putting your headphones on to fully immerse yourself in the memory.
Now that you have your headphones on, join me as we relive the start of a new day and feel the anticipation as we enter Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
