Take a virtual audio trip in this installment of the WDW-Memories podcast, brought to you in immersive binaural / 3D / spatial sound, experiencing another magical memory from Walt Disney World. In today’s memory, you will be transported to the parks through immersive binaural audio, and be there with us as we ride the brand new epic Star Wars attraction, and try to help the Resistance.

I am so excited about today’s audio. It had been a long time since we were at Hollywood Studios, and the kids are now big enough and mature enough to ride everything there. So it’s like a brand new park to our family, and I couldn’t wait to see what they thought of everything there. And of course, we begin with the brand new epic adventure, using an early entry to get it done in less than an hour. Why don’t we begin there?

In today’s memory, it’s an early Monday morning in December 2021. The sun is still low on the horizon, the ground is damp with dew, and it’s starting to warm up. Today is going to be a beautiful day.

In Memory 285, we entered the park and made our way to the queue for Rise of the Resistance. The posted wait time is one hour, which is actually a little high, but the queue is long and windy, and hard to tell how many people are ahead of us, or if they’re even running the attraction yet. You’ll get to hear some of the soundscapes as we make our way into caves, through dense foliage, around waterfalls, and eventually into the resistance equipment rooms. We’ll get to hear chatter on communication systems between the resistance crews as they prep for missions. Finally, we’re in the briefing room and BB-8 and Rey give us our orders before sending us to our transport. It’s hard to know where the ride really begins, but this attraction has it all. As we exit the end of the attraction, you’ll hear the laughter and joy in our voices as we excitedly talk about how great that was, and try to figure out if we can do it again. Ultimately though, we have so much more to see, and if we head out now, we can get ahead of the rest of the guests who are just now being let into the park, so no time to delay here.

As I said earlier, today’s memory is in binaural once again. So for the best experience, I would recommend putting on your favorite headphones to fully immerse yourself in the memory.

Now that you have your headphones on, join me as we relive the epic experience through a brand new Star Wars adventure, and try our best to help the resistance.
