Please put on your headphones to fully immerse yourself in another one of my Walt Disney World memories. You will feel as if you are at the park, experiencing it with us as the kites take to the sky overhead and the music maybe makes you want to dance a little.

We are back from our Alaska and Washington State adventures. We got to see some of the most beautiful natural sites, things that the Imagineers try to create, but like a photo, it just doesn’t compare to the real thing. Once I get through editing down my over 2000 photos and videos, I’ll probably write up some of my thoughts in a blog post on my personal site and maybe share the link for those who are interested. But for now, I want to get back to reliving a Disney vacation with all of you.

Today’s memory takes us back to a Tuesday morning in December 2021. Our visit to the Maharaja Jungle Trek was brief, but remember we were using it to pass the time before KiteTails started. Now it’s time to find seats, so we’ll exit the trail and head right towards the crowds gathering at the Discovery River lagoon for the next KiteTails show.

As we make our way through the land, we’ll join the memory, and soon be entering into the seating on the sunnier side closest to the entrance of Expedition Everest. The weather is warm, but we’ll enjoy the fun music while waiting for the show to begin. Around us, kids are being entertained with bubbles until the announcement signals the start of the show. The Discovery Island Drummers energize the crowd from a boat in front of us, and we’re excited to see the kites take to the sky. As each kite flies by, the crowd reacts with oohs and ahs. The few performers who put on this amazing show deserve recognition for their hard work.

After the show concludes, we pause to contemplate our next destination. We have a few options and we keep wavering between them. However, you’ll have to wait until the next Memory to discover which one we ultimately selected.

So again, for the best experience, make sure to wear your favorite headphones to really place yourself in this binaural memory.
