Well hello and welcome to the WDW-Memories Podcast where together we relive that Walt Disney World Magic. My name is Lou and I’ll once again be your host on this magical adventure. Well Merry Christmas everyone! I don’t know about you, but I feel like this year Christmas just sort of appeared on us. I don’t feel like I got to slow down and enjoy the holiday season. I barely even listened to all my Christmas Music. But I did get a nice surprise, and Traci and I are really starting to figure out when and how to get to Walt Disney World very soon, so stay tuned for more news on that front. But for now, let’s relive another great memory from our last trip to Walt Disney World.
We’ll be continuing our day in August 2018. It’s sunny and warm with a strong breeze now from a storm to our North, but the crowds are lighter today, so at least we aren’t packed into the parks. As you may remember from our previous memory, we have completed our park hop over from Epcot to the Magic Kingdom, and had begun the walk down Main Street USA to our first destination. The family is splitting up for a little bit. While my sister and dad go to meet a friend in the park, we’ll take my two older ones on Space Mountain.
We’ll join the memory as we are entering Tomorrowland, crossing the bridge from Main Street USA, and picking up the sounds of the Tomorrowland Expo announcement. Right now is special Incredible Summer event, helping to promote the new Incredibles 2 movie. We’ll stop for a minute and enjoy one of the acts, Gyroman, who uses a huge hoop to do tricks (a la Cirque du Soleil). Once he finishes, we head inside and out of the heat. Using our fastpases, we walk through the queue, and in minutes are loading into our spaceship, and then rocketed into outer space. As we exit the ride, you’ll hear us talking about the exit ramp being closed while they are revamping it to remove the moving walkway. We’ll exit the building, taking the path around the backside, and then are back in Tomorrowland where we’ll end our adventure for today.
I wish we had more time to ride this a couple of times with the kids. They forget how much fun it is to ride a coaster in the dark, and what that anticipation factor can do. If your little ones are not sure about this ride, encourage them to give it a try, they’ll come away loving it.
Today’s memory is in binaural once again, so I’d suggest putting those headphones on to fully immerse yourself in the memory.
Now join my family as we catch a bit of the Incredible Summer Celebration before taking a ride a coaster through time and space.
